I just went out to put the animals to bed... and make my egg rounds, and had a I love my farm life moment. There were two eggs in the nest, the one was my orpingtons daily brown egg. The other was MISS MUFFETS!!!!!! At least I think its hers. Fifi lays white eggs, this egg was slightly brown, so I'm thinking its not just a dwarf egg from Fifi. Muffet must be getting her game on!!! I did catch her in the garage with Henry today... Let me just fill you in on Muffet... She is at least nine years old! She sadly lost her life partner this spring, but it looks as if the new flock is bringing out her inner youth! How funnie! I'm real green in the chicken department... Has anyone else ever had a nine year old hen lay eggs?

So uninspired....
Im sooooo glad that I get to visit my Gma this week!!!!! I am so sick of my house (Which I LOVE to no end!) but seem to have been stuck in a rut and need some new inspiration... I need some functional shelving pieces in my living room, but can not find anything that I like + can afford. I refuse to buy anymore Ikea, and as much as I love my local thiftstore I really need a funky modern couch. The one we have now was the mans grandmothers, pink velour, lovely. Living on a farm with toddlers cats and lots of hay calls for a couch that can easily be cleaned and does not cost my right arm. I know that I am going to find all sorts of cool stuff in the US that I wish I could bring home.... Oh well. I am just going to have to be patient and wait til something falls from the sky.

The Manic Gardner
I have no rhythm.
I have no patience.
I have no idea what I am doing.
But it looks pretty good right now.
I'll keep you guys posted on my gardening project, it is gonna go down hill from here. Lilly has this book The Carrot Seed, that is how I feel about my garden.

Oilily
So, I was really sad when I heard that Oilily had gone bankrupt, but it got worse when I read on a blog that they had been stealing plushies from individual artists... I grew up wearing the clothes and worked for their store in Dallas for many years... I kinda have a relationship... But I realized that the company was not the same as it was 15 years ago, and decided that I needed to do something with a shirt I have had for ages and wore as often as I could when I was a teen. I am making it into a quilt. Oilily had a baby quilt line at one point when I worked for them, and they were really fantastic. I always wanted one, but couldn't buy a baby quilt in college... So, I'm making one now. The shirt is kind of the madras plaid, the blue and white fabric I bought in Hungary. Still not sure what color to put in between the squares... Any ideas? I like crazy!
