Darling

I took these pics today, it was a gloomy day outside and there is really nothing to blog about, still no foal... Getting really impatient about that... I got to teach riding lessons this evening though, that was fun! Lilly got to spend the evening chasing the neighbours lambs.

(Barb, guess where she got this action.....)

Lonesome

Poor Donkey, she is missing Kazan and keeps looking for him. I put her out in the big pasture so she could drowned her sorrows in nice new grass, that seemed to help. I think we all miss Kazan, he has really left an empty space here on the farm. I hope the baby gets her soon so we have two again. I might just have to see if we can get a horse again too soon...

Lilly was able to strut around in her favorite vest today without a hat for the first time this year. I got this vest at a thrift store, and she LOVES it, and wants to wear it all the time (to bed last night). It is so retro, but kinda cool.

Kazan

About one year ago this great guy arrived on our farm for some dirty business... Now a year later he is ready to move on to bigger and better things. I have really gown to like this fella, and he has been such a companion for Donkey. I can't wait to see their little baby due any day now, only wish he could stick around for it too.

Had to get this shot of Tyrone and Kitty in the sun together, so cute...

Mom and Dad came up and we put them to work! The project yesterday was rebuilding the little garden outside our front door. The boys rebuilt the stone wall as it was sliding out. Lilly helped, the chickens inspected and I just directed... Today we visited our neighbours to see the new born lambs.

Driving Miss Kitty

Here is my action shot! I really got dressed up for this photo session... Kitty wanted to come along for the ride. Glad Andreas got a shot of us before Donkey foals. We should have a new foal in about a week or two! We had fantastic weather again today, so Lilly had some lunch outside. Yes, Siri did get some of Lilly's lunch... This pair of deer wandered though our backyard yesterday! We have never seen a buck in the yard before! Pretty cool!

Donkey

I have been working with Donkey all winter to learn to pull a cart. Its pretty much done! She is so good and loves to pull. She gets a little freaked out by the tractors and other large vehicles... We need to work on that still. I bought the harness and wagon with my Etsy earnings ;) Yea Donk!Poor Andreas was sick all day, so thats why you don't get me and Donkey in an action shot.... The animals kept me company in the fantastic weather. This is Miss Muffet:

Eggs and Chickens...

What more could a little girl want? Lilly's two most favorite things. Easter break started today and we could not ask for better weather. Drama on the farm today... Henry's leadership qualities are in question. He does not really have the gentleman like leadership skills that Mr. Big operated with. He seems to feel threatened by Tyrone, our other rooster... Poor Tyrone was chased into the wood pile and would not come up for hours. He thought that we could not see him, but he had his head under a log and the rest of his behind up in the air, ostrich style... I think I need to pull Henry into the office for a talk...

Easter LOVE

I have been super slow getting the Easter decorations out this year, I wanted to start two weeks ago, but the man said no... But I got this in the mail the other day and it got me back in the game!
My dear friend from Stavanger always surprises me with these fantastic homemade gifts. She makes cards, jewelry and matchboxes and I can't live without them! You can buy her stuff at ROM FOR MER in Stavanger and really, they are gorgeous! I love how the rooster on the matchbox looks like late Mr. Big! Thank you Ingrid!!!!!!!
I just added these Easter rabbits to my Etsy shop... Better late then never...
