Sheep
Lilly and I just got back from our first craft fair. I was asked last minute by a neighbour (she was selling her sheepskins) as she thought the craft fair needed some "fresh new stuff". Norwegian craft fairs consist of knitting, knitting, knitting, some wood work, some more knitting and possibly some ceramic creations that I think always seem very depressing, oh, and paintings that are mostly browns, black, and ocher colors smeared around with a pallet knife.
I jumped at the opportunity! We arrived late, but had a super cute stand with cows, bunnies, cats, dogs, pigs, horses and my new elephants. I did a five min. survey of the clientele and realized that my stuff was going to be a hard sale. Recycled stuffed animals is not really what my village is ready for... It was lots of fun though and I met a super girl that was selling cards that she illustrated. I'm kinda glad I didn't have any sales as I got to spend the whole day drinking coffee, eating wonderful Norwegian cake and chatting up my new found friend!
Oh, and the classic comment "I'd buy one if you had a sheep!" I guaranty you had a had sheep then they would want a camel...

Thankful
It's been a while since my last post and I have lots of excuses, my best one so far is that I have been thinking allot, so much in fact that I forget half of my thoughts before I can think them all the way through let alone have the time to write them down.
Turning 30 was a biggie. I can't remember a birthday having such an impact. I'm not a kid anymore, I'm a (as my mom so nicely put it) wife, mother, artist, farm owning teacher. Yea! That's kinda freaky! It has taken me a while to digest.
So, while I was out with my pony this morning "teaching" her to pull a cart I realized that I was not teaching her. She is teaching me. I am learning about myself. I am more of an adult as I ever was, and yet I feel more like a kid then I ever did. It doesn't make any sense.
Boyfriend's grandmother turned 80 two days after me. At her party I ask her if she remembered her 30th. She said "Oh yes, and I let it pass in silence". I wanted to let thirty pass in silence, but in my world thirty is not silent.

WoW
I had no idea how much I depended on the Internet until I didn't have it! Our Internet has been down for the past week and my whole life has been turned up side down! My morning ritual was drastically altered, and Skype was long gone... I suddenly realized how far out in the country I really am! It was a nice wake up call, I do spend WAY too much time on the laptop. I'm glad that I had that experience, I learned allot, that's why I have been online all day today!
So, because I don't have any pictures of what I accomplished around the farm while the net was down I'm gonna share my Lilly Belle thrifting, she found some glasses!

TEA PARTY
This year most of my homeboys are turning the big 30! This weekend was my bestest Barbara's turn. She had a fantastically cozy tea party with her closest friends. I had a great time, and it brought back so many good memories. Here are some of the moments... Unfortunately my camera was on its last leg so the pics are quite horrible. Thanks for a great party Barb, can't wait for 30 more!
