I can't believe that my sweet little girl is almost 2.  She is such a smart little girl and so funny, and did I say smart?!  She makes us laugh all day long and she gets into so much trouble, she talks all the time and I just love her to bits.

Summer is here.  It is cold and wet, but it is summer.  I  have lived in Norway for well over half my life and never seen a caterpillar.  Today I realized that I was breeding them in my kale plants.  They were so happy they were doing a dance.  All of them, hundreds.  Happy healthy kale eating caterpillars.  So cuz we can't eat kale we eat ice cream.  Not complaining.

some summer updates

Our friends are gone, but we sure did have fun.  I played so hard I had to take a almost 3 hour nap this afternoon.  Nice!  I've been looking back at pictures on the blog and always get a kick out of how much things change here on the farm.  This year we finally finished painting the annex and it looks really good. The round pen is gonna be great!!!  Looks like our farm chores have not run away while we had company. Really have to start cleaning the sheep barn and the chicken coop. And the girls are so cute watching daddy work!

We have had some friends over for a while and we always have so much fun together.  Today we went fishing for crabs, then ate ice cream, then we went to pick elderflowers for juice making, the rest is self explanatory!

farm life

We went to visit our friends farm today. We played indians in the teepee, saw a new baby calf, counted Lilly the pigs thirteen piglets.  Pet Peter Rabbits relatives, Met Lukas the lama and his new woman Sarah, and now wonder if we should be flattered that our friends are naming their livestock after us! The weather was wonderful and the kids had fun climbing on rocks!  We also squeezed in a Islandic horse show and some serious ice cream eating!

We were gonna take a walk down to see Donkey...  But we got sidetracked!  The smiles on the kids faces...  Priceless!

Oh glorious summer day!

My day started out dressing the girls in our usual "summer" attire: wool t-shirts and overalls.  At about 10 we started rolling up sleeves and pant cuffs.  By 11 we got to put our swimsuits on for the FIRST time this summer.  I filled up our water tub and hot diggedy daug we were doing the summer dance!  But it just kept on getting better!  All sorts of friends dropped by and we grilled and ate great food on our newly painted lawn furniture, and more friends dropped by and we had some tea and coffee and the kids played and then my friend said "lets go sheer your sheep" so off we went to learn how to sheer sheep old school.  Sprinkle the day with a digger in our yard diggen me a round pen, some gardening, some happy chickens and we are in heaven!  Thanks to you all, it was fab!  Sorry no pics of the actual sheep sheering, but imagine three hot mommas, one with her babe.  We were out in a field. One holding sheep, one sheering, one babysitting.  Thats what I'm saying...

My Grandma was here!

We had so much fun and I was SO glad that the girls could meet and spend time with my gma.  It was fab, and my grandmother is super duper!
