Easter

Lilly and I made the banner in the foto above. I cut up her paintings in eights and glued them onto a cotton string, turned out really cute!

So Miss Muffet, my granny hen (behind the rooster in this last pic) laid an egg today, just in time for Easter, darling!

Wednesdays

I promice I am going to start blogging about my animals and farm, there is so much going on outside right now. The garden is gonna explode any day now, and well the sheep are due sometime around Easter... But don't take my word for it, seems all the mammals are way overdue on this farm... So, say mid late May? The chickens are thrilled that the snow is gone, I caught them taking a mid day nap in the barn this afternoon. But for now you are just gonna have to endure more pics of the girls...

The snow is gone and we got to enjoy the day with friends! They got to test drive Donkey and brought lots of good food to eat. Lovley!

I have learned that norwegians like to have the same dinner on a certain day, like potato dumplings on Thursday, bacon pancakes on Tuesday, rice porrige on Saturday... I have always thought this was weird, and I way to flighty a person to repeat the same meal once every week. I'm the type that makes the same thing for a week, then repeats the recipie after a year. Anyway, we got into making pizza on fridays, and now I must admit I look forward to our friday night family ritual. We also live so far in the sticks that although we crave dominoes we can't order out. Pizza has become are new sport and we try to make it as good and better than the Italian joint we frequented when we lived in town. So just feast your eyes on this beauty! Next week its garlic marinated scampi.... just you wait!

I have been meaning to get a picture of Lilly riding forever, glad my man was there today to help. We had a fantasic day doing all sorts of odds and ends on the farm.

Chocolate chip cookies

So, I've been into bringing back the childhood foods lately and found a cookie recipe that is sinfully good. I'm gonna let you all in on my secret. How cool are the milk glasses?! They are my latest Fretex find and go perfect with the cookies!

Ingredients
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup butter
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In medium bowl, combine flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Stir with fork so all ingredients are mixed.
In large bowl, combine sugars, and butter. Mix until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until smooth and fluffy.
Add 1 cup of dry ingredients at a time to mixture until all is incorporated. Drop cookies onto ungreased cookie sheet and bake for about 10-15 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
